Mazda 3 Service Manual: Body Control Module (Bcm) Configuration
1. Connect the M-MDS to DLC-2.
2. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initial screen of the M-MDS.

When using the IDS (laptop PC)

Select “Module Programming”.

Select “Programmable Module Installation”.

Select “BCM/GEM”.
3. Perform the configuration according to the directions on the screen.
4. Retrieve DTCs by the M-MDS, then verify that there is no DTC present.

If a DTC(s) is detected, perform the applicable DTC inspection..

1. Remove the aerodynamic under cover No.2 and the splash shield as a single
unit..
2. Remove the oil seal.
a. Drain the ATF..
b. Disconnect the drive shaft (LH) from the transaxle..
c. Disconnect the drive shaft (RH) from the joint shaft..
d. Remove the joint shaft..

Intake Manifold Vacuum Inspection [Mzr 2.0, Mzr 2.5]
1. Disconnect the evaporative hose (purge solenoid valve side) and install the
vacuum gauge..
2. Verify that the intake air hoses are installed securely.
3. Warm up the engine.
4. Measure the intake manifold vacuum while idling (no load) using the vacuum
gauge.

Aerodynamic Under Cover No.2 Removal/Installation
Except SKYACTIV-G 2.0
1. Lift up the vehicle.
2. Remove the fasteners and bolts.
3. Move the aerodynamic under cover No.2 in the direction of the arrow shown
in the figure and remove it.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage the aerodynamic under cover No.2 during removal.
