Mazda 3 Service Manual: Parking Brake Switch Inspection
1. Remove the upper panel..
2. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
3. Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.

If not as indicated in the table, replace the parking brake lever.

b. Shift knob (MTX).
c. Selector lever knob (ATX).
d. Shift panel.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable..
3. Remove the inner garnish..
4. Remove the front door trim..
5. Remove the power outer mirror..
6. Remove clip A using a fastener remover and pull the front beltline molding
in the direction of the arrow (1) ...
